vintage: mk challenge

This weeks photography challenge was: Vintage

I love all things vintage and antique inspired but I honestly
don't own many items that are true vintage.

One thing that I do have is this antique skeleton key.
This key is very dear to my heart.
It came to me from my grandpa.
My gramps is a collector.
A collector of clocks, locks, watches, keys, coins...(the list goes on)
On occasion, I will stay with him while I travel for work.
A few years back, I had to give a big presentation to the CEO of my company.
I don't do well with speaking in front of people.
The night before my flight out I was camped out at my grandparents.
I don't know if my grandpa could sense my nerves
but he said he had a good luck charm for me.
That is when he gave me my skeleton key,
which at one point in time was my great great grandmas house key.
I put it on a chain and wore it around my neck during
my presentation and it couldn't of gone better.
It now hangs it my home to bring good luck to me and my family.

Do you love vintage?
My friends do.

baby blues.

If I am half as lucky as Lynds and Tyler,
my future children will inherit some of these baby blues.
Mace has the most gorgeous eyes ever!
Fast forward 20 years from now, the girlies will be going crazy!

quiet: mk challenge

The challenge this week was the word {quiet}
I don't know why, but this was a hard week.
I had a few ideas but nothing seemed to fit just perfectly.

As I was contemplating, I remembered a few weeks ago when our power went out.
Even in a quiet house, we still have the hum of the refrigerator,
the water running in the dishwasher, the clanking of the dryer,
the fan in the PC, the AC kicking on and off, the TV, and many other sounds.
But when there is no electricity, there is silence.
Pure quietness.

I forget how nice that dead silence is.
Me and the Man lit some candles and enjoyed some good
conversation and some
quiet time together.

What does quiet mean to you?
Stop by my friends and see:

autumn: mk challenge

This weeks photo challenge:
"what autumn means to me"

I was traveling this week for work and didn't really have much time
to figure out what I wanted to take a photo of.
I am trying to get in the habit of taking my camera with me
where ever I go more often, so I can catch more spur of the moment pictures.
So, luckily I packed my camera along with me this week on my travels.
As the plane was descending into the Salt Lake Valley, I looked out my
window and saw the beautiful bright yellow on the mountain side.
Falls leaves are gorgeous, but sadly we don't get them until later on in the year here.
It's not the clearest picture, shooting through that thick airplane window,
but it made me excited for the upcoming autumn.

Enjoy autumn at a glimpse from the sky.

remember to pay my friends a visit at
{life through the lens} and Savoring the Details.
they are the inspiration behind these fun, weekly challenges!

create: mk challenge

This weeks photography challenge was {create}
Kristi gave the definition so well...
create:
-make or cause to be or to become
-bring into existence
-pursue a creative activity; be engaged in a creative activity
-create by artistic means
-create or manufacture a man-made product

I think babies are the most beautiful creation.
I could only wish this baby was mine.
My sissy so kindly let me borrow her for a moment.

"a new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope a dream of possibilities"

p.s. my contribution to the creation part of this photograph is the little pink beanie.
I have recently learned how to knit (just beanies) and I'm really loving it!

Please make sure and stop by the wonderful
{life through the lens} and Savoring the Details
to see their beautiful photos!

My niece had a FUNdraiser for her dance group selling
Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
I love these. They honestly melt in your mouth.
Good thing they arrived Monday, because
I don't really bake so what would I take a pic of :)

Make sure and stop by {life through the lens} and Savoring the Details
